“Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth.Worship the Lord with gladness; come into his presence with singing.”
— Psalm 100:1-2 (NRSV)
I know you’ve been hearing about them a lot, but I hope you will plan to be with us this coming Sunday at 4 pm for our Songweavers Concert.
Songweavers, New Hampshire’s original women’s community chorus, is a program of the Concord Community Music School in Concord, NH. The group consists of a 100-member chorus accompanied by African style drummers. The chorus will also be accompanied by piano and guitar. Songweavers is a musical experience of harmony, excitement and love.
This year’s theme, “I am Light”, reflects the idea that we each carry the light within us into our lives. They will be singing about light – light in music, light in singing together and light walking through our lives. Through songs like “Walkin’ in the Light” paired with “This Little Light of Mine”, “Sending You Light”, “What Light Do You Shine in the World?” and the title song, “I Am Light”, by India Arie. Songweavers will ignite the light within you, too.
With all the darkness there is in the world, I can think of no better way to uplift our spirits than to join in this celebration of light. I hope you will make every effort to join us, and bring along a carload of your best friends. Tickets are still available by calling the church office, or they will be on sale at the doors, which will open at 3:30 Sunday afternoon.
Yours in Grace,
