But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people who are God’s own possession. You have become this people so that you may speak of the wonderful acts of the one who called you out of darkness into his amazing light. Once you weren’t a people, but now you are God’s people. Once you hadn’t received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

What a wonderful way to kick off our new church year. Yesterday’s worship service was terrific. I’m delighted to welcome back our choir and our children. If you didn’t have a chance to join us, my sermon is now posted online at our FCC website: fccmanchesternh.org. I get questions from time to time about copies of sermons. They are still being published in hard copy in the church office, but they are also posted every week in both printed and audio formats. Look for the Sermons button under the Worship and Music tab. I encourage you to check out our updated webpage.
I also want to thank all those who helped make our All Church Picnic such a wonderful success. The food was great, the weather was beautiful, and we were able to welcome around 20 of our neighborhood guests. The only thing I would change are some of those old church tables. Wicked heavy!
Please note: this coming Saturday is our opportunity to get feedback directly from the Holy Cow organization on our Church Assessment Tool (CAT) Survey. We’ll be gathering at our church at 10 am. Please plan to arrive a bit early so we can begin on time. The gathering is for any and all of our church members and friends who are interested in hearing first-hand what the survey reveals about who we are and where we might be headed in the future. We’re especially encouraging our lay leaders and board and committee members to come, but all are welcome.
Yours in grace,
