It’s Angel Tree time, and this year the Outreach Committee has an exciting twist. Instead of gift cards or gifts we would like to distribute filled Christmas Stockings!
The Committee has purchased 150+ red felt Christmas stockings and we will be sponsoring 5 organizations this year. As in the past years we will partner with the 3 group homes: Manchester Mental Health, Helping Hands Outreach Center for men, and the New Life Home for women and children. Additionally, this year we will be including Liberty House for our homeless male veterans and Dismas Home for women. We are asking you, our FCC family to pick up an empty stocking or two from church and fill them up with appropriate stocking stuffers for the specific organization. There will be an informational card attached to each stocking with the name of the organization and gender of the recipient. In the case of the children their age will also be included. Also included will be a list of suggested, but certainly not limited to, appropriate stocking stuffers. The only requirement is no food or candy please due to allergies and dietary restrictions. Let’s have fun with this project and please use your imaginations! Be creative! Fill you stocking(s) with useful items that will bring surprise and joy to the person receiving the stocking. As done in the past the Knitting Committee is graciously including knitted hats for the adult recipients, and knitted hats and mittens for the children. Please drop you filled stockings off at the church by Dec. 10th, 2021.
There is a suggested $30 limit. If you would like to participate but wish not to fill the stocking yourself, please mail a check into the office marked “Christmas Angel Stocking Project” by Nov. 29th, 2021. A committee member will be glad to shop and fill a stocking on behalf of you.
We are truly grateful to be able continue our tradition of bringing unexpected happiness to people during the Christmas Season!!
